Third win of the year, and the film's first Best Feature honor

NEW YORK, NY — Plucked has won Best Feature Film at the East Village New York Film Festival — the film's third award of its 2026 festival run and its first top feature prize from a New York festival.

The win follows Best Horror Feature Film at the Garden State Film Festival, where the film had its World Premiere, and Best Dark Comedy Film at the New York International Film Awards.

Co-directors Usher Morgan and Katie Vincent attended the screening with members of the cast.

“This one is home,” said Morgan. “We live twenty blocks from that theater. Winning Best Feature in our own neighborhood, for a period film about New York, is about as good as this job gets.”

Set in Gilded Age New York, Plucked follows Katherine Greene (Vincent), a woman who resolves to divorce her emotionally unstable husband in 1886. When her husband Peter (Jared Canfield) learns of her intentions on the night of an important dinner party, the evening spirals into chaos, jealousy and escalating revenge. The film also stars Catherine Curtin, J. Anthony Crane, Bryant Carroll and Susan Gallagher.

“New York audiences don't grade on a curve,” said Vincent. “They either go with you or they check their phones. This room went with us.”

With three awards in hand, Plucked continues its festival run ahead of a theatrical release later this year. Screeners and press materials are available on request.
