Plucked Wraps 32-Day Shoot in Rhode Island
The Gilded Age dark comedy completes principal photography after 32 days at Woodbine Cottage.
Single-location feature completes principal photography at Woodbine Cottage; film moves into post-production
NEWPORT, RI — Plucked has completed principal photography after a 32-day shoot at Woodbine Cottage in Newport, Rhode Island. The Gilded Age dark comedy is written and directed by Usher Morgan and Katie Vincent for Dark Passage Films, in collaboration with Hot Jam Productions.
The entire film takes place inside one house over one night, and it was shot that way: a single location, a fixed ensemble, and a schedule built around keeping the cast in the same rooms their characters never leave.
The film stars Katie Vincent as Katherine Greene, a woman who resolves to divorce her husband in 1880s New York, alongside Jared Canfield as Peter, Catherine Curtin as Maggie, J. Anthony Crane as James, Bryant Carroll as Nigel and Susan Gallagher as Emilie. Giuseppe Masi served as director of photography.
The production was supported by Rhode Island producers Chad A. Verdi Jr. and Paul Luba, and drew crew and vendors from the state's film community. Woodbine Cottage, an 1873 Swiss Chalet-style mansion designed by George Champlin Mason, served as the film's only location.
Plucked now moves into post-production, with Morgan and Vincent overseeing editing, sound design and visual effects in-house. A festival run and release plan will be announced at a later date.
